Bluffview/Briarwood

At A Glance

Developed from what had been a 215-acre dairy farm, the land that is now Bluffview is punctuated by 50-foot bluffs that run along Bachman Creek. John P. Stevens, who was also responsible for Stevens Park in Oak Cliff, bought the farm in 1924 and divided the property into one-acre parcels. The lots are distinctive for their terrain features, many of which were formed from Bachman Creek’s streams and tributaries. The area’s distinctive features and large lot sizes have attracted numerous prominent families who hired highly acclaimed architects to design their homes. Many of the original homes have been restored and refurbished and are very much in use today.

Greenway Parks

At A Glance

A stone’s throw from its Park Cities neighbors, Greenway Parks is one of the most unique neighborhoods in Dallas. Most homes in Greenway Parks back up to wide, private green belts, designed in 1927 in the style of English Commons. This keeps the neighborhood picturesque and quiet despite its urban location. Strictly-enforced deed restrictions, a strong homeowners association, and a deep-seeded neighborhood pride have helped keep the area and its 300 or so families faithful to their roots for the better part of a century. Architectural styles are diverse and homes are extremely well kept and maintained. Nearby entertainment and shopping meccas Inwood Village and Preston Center give residents plenty of options.
